A Photograph

It is true

That a single picture

Can eclipse a thousand words.

The image of Belsen

Is so horrific words fail,

Or a smiling child

Gives a joy that words can’t describe.

We need to look, learn

And take these images to heart

To the deepest part of the soul,

Live them,

Remember them,

Honour them,

So the evil will never again be captured

And the joy will always remain.
